Your lease and your state decide
A lease or a state law can say exactly how a notice must be delivered: to which address, by what method and how far ahead. Check before you rely on mail.

Some notices can’t go by mail alone
California’s courts, for example, tell landlords to hand over an eviction notice, or leave it with an adult or post it, and then mail a copy. We print and mail; we don’t serve notices.

“Return receipt requested”?
Choose Certified + return receipt ($14). It’s USPS’s electronic return receipt, signed by whoever receives it, and USPS emails it to you once the letter is delivered.

If your lease or a law asks for the green card by name (PS Form 3811), send that letter from a post office.
Make the letter clear
Date it. Name the property address and the people it’s for. Say plainly what you’re asking for or telling them, and by when. Keep your own copy with the tracking email.

Can you serve an eviction notice for me?
No. We print and mail; we don’t serve notices. In some states, such as California, an eviction notice has to be handed over or posted, and mail is only a second step. Ask your local court’s self-help center before you rely on mail.
Can I get a return receipt?
Yes. Certified + return receipt is $14: USPS’s electronic return receipt, signed by whoever receives the letter, emailed to you by USPS once it’s delivered. If your lease asks for the green card itself, send that letter from a post office.
Can I mail my notice that I’m moving out?
Yes, if your lease and your state allow notice by mail. Upload your signed notice, enter the address your lease gives for notices, and choose a Certified letter for a tracking number.
Can I send one notice to two tenants?
Each order mails to one address. For tenants at two addresses, place two orders.
What return address goes on the envelope?
On a letter, it’s your name, care of Have It Printed, at our mailbox in Pasadena. Put your own mailing address in the letter itself so replies come straight to you.
Will it get there in time?
We don’t promise mailing or delivery dates. When a notice period starts depends on your lease and your state. If time is tight, deliver the notice yourself in a way your state allows.
